Trumpet duets are a great way to practice the skills you need to perform with larger
music ensembles (but way easier to organize). The first and second parts to these
duets are of equal importance and we have done our best to make sure both players get
to carry the melody at least for a section of each song. We also try to make sure
there are occasional bars of rest! One of the goals with this collection was to
expose players to a good handful of New Orleans standards -- songs that every jazz player
should know off the top of their heads. The articulations are meticulously written to try
to help classical players understand and sound like jazzers. These are fun to
play and perform!
