This is a classic, lazy, slow New Orleans blues.  Trumpet 1 covers the melody with a plunger and is marked "ad lib a little on DS" so dirty it up a bit the second time through.  Trumpet 2 plays Bb piccolo throughout with a lot of "clarinet-style" fills.  Caution: There are several written high Ebs, an E, and a G (but the G sounds fine down an octave).
