This version is written as a fantasy on the jaunty 19th century song with lots of flourishes and key changes.  The melody shifts many times between instruments.

The poem was originally published as "The New-England Boy's Song about Thanksgiving Day" but the song has evolved into a traditional Christmas carol.  But feel free to play it on all your Thanksgiving gigs!
