This is Prelude #2 of George Gershwin's "Three Preludes" for piano first published in
1926. The music has distinct jazz and blues influences, and the low melody in the
second section works wonderfully on the tuba. It is classic Gershwin, and
appropriate for everything from casual performances to formal recitals.
